You're on the fence... not sure if relocating is right for you. So how do you know? I have some tell-tale questions here that will help you make an informed decision on whether or not it's time to move.
Have you rented storage space off-site?
If so, you might want to consider moving. Do you have too many things to comfortably fit in your home? I'm not talking hoarders necessarily, but if you have more things than space, it may be time for an upgrade.
Are you getting married or having a baby?
If so, does your home support the addition of another human? If you're getting married, you may be doubling the size of your "things" and even after consolidating you may still feel you need more space. Maybe another room or two? IF you're having a baby or adding to your family, is there enough room(s) for all people in the house?
Is there too much empty space in your home?
Do you have several rooms that are just junk-collectors? Rooms that you never go into? You might have too much space and so downsizing might be a good idea now.
Is your commute over an hour?
If you have changed jobs or your commute is killing you, it may be time to find a home closer to work. IT may or may not be more expensive but if the commute is killing you, it's time to look into closer homes.
Is it tough to make the current mortgage or rent payment?
It may be time to find a better solution for your housing payment. If your mortgage is too high, you might consider a mortgage modification, refinance, or time to find a lower priced home with better rates and terms.
Do you hate the neighborhood or schools?
Do you have a high-crime area? Sex offenders living next door or just in a poor school district? It may be time to move to a safer community. A little research will give you options and statistics on crime and schools.
Are you planning on retiring?
If you're winding down your working career you may want to look for a home in an active adult community, somewhere sunny, and closer to family. If you know you'll be retiring soon, start researching options now.
Can you afford to move?
Moving can be costly including selling a house, packing, moving materials, closing costs, taxes, cleaning, and moving companies. Are you in a position where moving is even an option financially?

Do you need money and a cash out would be helpful?
Have you built up some equity and now you want to cash it in? It might be a great time to move on or think about renting and using your equity for investments or even home improvements on a new house.
